 Another trip in the books for my favorite colleague, my baby. This property goes all out for Christmas! 🎄 

 



⛲️ Natural mineral springs have drawn guests, including US presidents, to The Greenbrier for more than two centuries. The historic hotel opened in 1913.



📮Letters to Santa, a fun run and cookie decorating workshops are all part of The Greenbrier’s lineup in the days surrounding December 25.



⛪️ On Christmas Eve, there’s a Season’s Greetings Dinner ($125 per adult; $55 per child) and a service in the resort’s chapel. On Christmas Day, puzzles and board games, indoor planetarium presentations and a Christmas musical will keep families entertained.

The Wauwinet is the only Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts property around the island.  It’s spectacular, but quite a bit far from White Elephant village if you don’t have a car. I suggest you stay at the White Elephant, buy a pair of Nantucket Reds at Murray’s and walk about town!  But don’t skip lunch at Toppers! The Wauwinet Lady can transport you over to this sister property on boat. A great experience!  Back to the White Elephant 🐘  We've stayed in cottages, residences, and - for our last visit - the hotel with a view of the harbor and (very convenient!) easy access to Brant Point...More on that later... Four Seasons New Orleans

  The Four Seasons New Orleans  The good times rolled at the Four Seasons New Orleans. We have visited with and without a baby, and both times were magnificent. The Chandelier Bar (showed below) is magnificent! Miss River is a fun spot to eat, with jazz music. Chemin à la Mer is my favorite, with panoramic views of the Mississippi River. I always get the Savage Blonde Oysters. It is the place to go for traditional Louisiana fare with a twist of French techniques.  The fitness center at the Four Seasons is world class, but if you are looking for more of an outdoors family adventure, check out Audubon Park. There is a zoo as well as lovely grounds to stroll and walk off all the jambalaya & such. The Audubon Aquarium is actually closer to the Four Seasons than it is to Audubon Park! This experience is not to be missed. It was my son’s first aquarium experience. It was entertaining for us too.  Another fun spot with a unique bar experience, bar Marilou. a hidden gem for craft cocktails

  A guide for the town where The Bush Family vacations. 🇺🇸Kennebunkport, Maine.  The quaint, yet pedigreed All-American town about 30 miles south of Portland, is full of exquisite lobster fine dining experiences and pristine marinas full of boats.  Where you are staying…  I stayed at the White Barn Inn, an Auberge property. The only Amex #FHR in the area. Complimentary breakfast (mostly coffee) is my favorite way to start the day… Where to relax… Walking on the beach is a close second favorite way to begin my mornings. There are three main Kennebunk Beach areas: Mother’s Beach, Middle Beach, and Gooch’s Beach. Kennebunkport or Kennebunk (they are one and the same) is a destination that will surprise local New Englanders and urban city dwellers alike.  Stripers waterside restaurant at The Breakwater Inn is a great spot for lunch by the water and a lobster roll. 🦞 Take in the fresh air!
