FS Hualalai

 The Four Seasons Hualalai

The Four Seasons Hualalai is the ideal spot for your dream vacation! Whether it’s your honeymoon or your 50th anniversary, I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The FS Hualalai grounds are absolutely breathtaking and each room is standalone. We even got a walk-up ocean view so could walk in and out like a house, straight onto the beach and The Quiet Pool! Front & center of the main hotel entrance.

After this trip, we significantly improved our tennis game by participating in three tennis clinics. There’s a tennis clinic daily, sometimes nothing and afternoon, but you can also schedule a private lesson or reserve a time to just play on the courts.
We decided it’s our sport!

However, my husband, Gordon, loves golf and I was on the high school golf team, so of course, we spent some time practicing our golf swings.

We took a yoga class at the world-class gym. They even have a triathlete training program! Running in Kona was incredible…

We also stand up paddle boarded at The Canoe Club! This was more my sport than Gordon’s… he only did it once. I would go daily if I lived here! The Club has drinks and snacks available. Once you sign up to paddle once, you’re set for the rest of your trip! You can SUP anytime.

We had a blast snorkeling with the fish then feeding these fish in The King’s Pond! 🐠 It’s also an architectural design masterpiece. The structure is a complete work of art! This is a highly underrated pool that I noticed guests didn’t appreciate as much as we did. It was my favorite!

We had the best time indulging in two couples massages (50 & 80 min) with a private steam and sauna champagne experience.

I highly recommend scheduling a 5pm massage for 50 minutes, just make sure you get out in time to watch the sunset!

Make sure to have your beverage of choice readily available post your massage! The Hualalai Trading Company has Caymus on property for a fraction of the price! 🍷

We loved exploring the recently erupted volcano and the majestic waterfalls with Paradise Helicopters! 🚁

We also spent countless hours by the multiple pools on property sipping on our new favorites The Mauna Kea Rita 🍹and The Thyme Berry Cooler! 🌺  We are tied between The King’s Pond and The Palm Grove pools as our favorite. Gordon gravitated towards Palm Groove because of the swim up bar, of course.

We had way too much delicious food (but is there such a thing on vacation?)

This Poké is from The Palm Grove Pool.

Beach Tree is the classic Italian restaurant on campus… think heavy carbohydrates / pastas for those who don’t eat much fish or for when the rare moment when you just can’t eat anymore ahi comes around.

Ulu for daily breakfast, of course! Did I mention I can get you complimentary breakfast? Yep. Every day. I can also get you a complimentary upgrade, resort credit, and perhaps even roundtrip transportation and a few other surprises. Trust me, you’ll be smiling! You can Mahalo me later.

We took a private charter out to open waters for our scuba dive! The private charter, Kona Ocean Adventures, was recommended by The Four Seasons Hualalai. The concierge had the best suggestions for every activity we inquired about and booked it all for us. We even got to pay via room charge!

There are so many microclimates in Kona… it was rainy one minute then all clear skies and sunshine the next! ⛅️

This was my favorite activity! As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, I absolutely love both the chill and the thrill of being underwater. We had the most gorgeous manta ray as our scuba guide! Our scuba dive master, Sophie was also a great guide and even documented this unreal experience on her GoPro. 🤿 🌊

The worst part was saying Aloha… but I have a feeling we will be back! The first and last sunsets on any of the Hawaiian Islands tend to be the most memorable.

There are one or two other properties that I would recommend in Kona…, but FS Hualalai is by far my favorite.

Perhaps one day we will move here, but for now, I’m ready to Travel Moore and see more of our world.

I’m ready to dive in if you are!

Let’s Travel Moore.
